By accessing and using AltBite ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

AltBite is a nutrition information and analysis application that provides:

• Barcode scanning for food products
• Nutrition information and scoring
• AI-powered nutrition advice (premium feature)
• Personalized recommendations based on user preferences
• Scan history and favorites tracking

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payments

Free Trial: New users receive a 7-day free trial of premium features.

Premium Subscription: After the trial period, continued access to premium features requires a paid subscription.

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually
• Automatic renewal unless cancelled before the renewal date
• No refunds for partial subscription periods
• Prices subject to change with 30 days notice

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the App to harm, threaten, or harass others

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by AltBite and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The App's scoring algorithm and recommendation system are proprietary.

7. Data Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate nutrition information:

• Data is sourced from third-party databases (primarily OpenFoodFacts)
• Information may not be complete or up-to-date
• Users should verify critical information independently
• We are not liable for decisions made based on App data

8. AI-Generated Content

Our AI Nutritionist feature uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized advice. This content:

• Is generated by AI and may contain errors
• Should not replace professional medical advice
• Is based on limited information you provide
• May not account for all health conditions or circumstances

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AltBite shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AltBite from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time through the App settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
